PROJECT MALIBU: Japanese and Scandinavian Restyling in Puerto Banús

A calm, intentional restyling shaped by natural textures, muted tones, and quiet balance. Situated in the Malibu residence of Puerto Banús, this apartment reflects a refined blend of Japanese and Scandinavian influences. The space was thoughtfully reimagined to feel open, grounded, and connected to its coastal surroundings.

The project integrates contemporary design with vintage character, bringing together curated objects and organic materials. White stones, light woods, and a clean, minimalist layout create visual clarity while preserving warmth and depth. This home speaks to a way of living that values simplicity, honesty in materials, and timeless character.

“Malibu was a quiet transformation.

A space where each texture, each piece, and each shift in light felt like a dialogue between clarity and comfort.

It wasn’t just about refreshing an apartment. It was about restoring a rhythm. Honoring a slower, softer way of living that feels rooted, calm, and deeply present.

This project reminded me that restraint can be powerful. That true atmosphere comes from what you choose to hold and what you choose to let go.

With intention and quiet care,
Jessi”

ESSENCE KEPT, SILENCE ADDED: Dining Room Restraint in Puerto Banús

In the dining room, the original table remained a grounding presence that carried its own quiet character. Rather than replace it, we chose to highlight it, surrounding it with carefully selected minimal pieces that honor simplicity and space.

With a restrained palette and subtle accents, the room was transformed through balance and intention. Every object was chosen not to fill, but to frame. This approach reflects the Japanese-Scandinavian philosophy at the heart of the Malibu project where less becomes meaningful, and stillness becomes visible.

The soul of the Malibú apartment lives in the details, especially in the vintage pieces we carefully selected and re-adapted. Each object carries its own story, bringing quiet layers of history into a space rooted in contemporary clarity. Sustainability guided every choice, not only through re-use but through respect for craftsmanship and material longevity.

The old sideboards, closet, and decor were thoughtfully preserved to maintain a connection to the past while harmonizing with the Japanese Scandinavian style of the restyling. These pieces add character and warmth, creating a home that feels authentic lived-in.

This approach to interior design in Marbella values what already exists and celebrates the beauty of thoughtful reinvention. Malibu becomes more than a restyling, it becomes a dialogue between history and modernity, form and feeling.

BE SPOKE RE INTEGRATION: Vintage Elements Renewed with Intent

The reintegration of vintage pieces was a key part of this project. We carefully evaluated what could be saved and enhanced, creating custom cushions inspired by marine patterns and ochre tones that echo the building’s façade. These bespoke textile details add subtle color and continuity, blending history with fresh interpretation.

Every choice was made to honor the existing elements while bringing new life and cohesion to the space. This approach reflects thoughtful interior design in Marbella, combining sustainability, craftsmanship, and timeless style. Malibu is more than a restyling, it is a celebration of heritage and contemporary calm.
